- Develop concept, assembly level layout, and detail design documentation with necessary supporting documentation and analysis
- Perform thermal analysis on designs involving multiple heat sources and optimize design for thermal dissipation.
- Design mechanical enclosures for electronic devices including internal cable harnesses
- Produce design models, drawing details, assembly drawings, and associated engineering documentation with 3D parametric modeling software
- Design cable harnesses including wiring schematics and proper EMI shielding

You’ll also be responsible for communicating technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems.

You will involve the SDR system performance evaluation, data analysis, issues troubleshooting and performance optimization (power efficiency, signal quality, size of logic resources) to meet the System Design Specifications.

We are looking for a Principal Hardware Engineer who will be responsible for leading research and development of new products, leading improvements existing products and overall systems solutions. This role will play a critical role developing Wave Relay Product solutions with our DOD customers. The Principal Hardware Engineer will identify customer needs through face to face interaction and play a critical role in developing the product solution. This individual will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions.
Position Responsibilities
- Managing, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams
- Supporting software and hardware testing
- Supporting and facilitating engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration
- Supporting the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintained
- Ensuring quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manuals
- Providing support and delivering solutions for rapid development projects
- Modifying and updating requirements documents
- Coordinating preparation of design drawings including updates
- Supporting and facilitating project scheduling
Persistent Systems is looking for a DevOps Engineer with extensive experience in a Linux environment to join our team in our New York City office. The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation, automation, and management of the build & release process on our development team. The ideal candidate has recent, demonstrated, hands-on development build and release automation expertise in Linux.
Must be a US Citizen and have ability to obtain a security clearance, as we sell to US Government and it is their requirement (we are a defense subcontractor as well as selling commercial). Onsite full-time in our Manhattan HQ.
Position Responsibilities
- Create and maintain the development infrastructure including continuous build environments, continuous integration, continuous deployment, testing platforms, dedicated test hardware, and test automation frameworks
- Design highly reliable, redundant, performant, and fault tolerant software delivery pipelines
- Improve DevOps tooling: Integrate JIRA, Jenkins, and Git review processes
- Champion the importance of Build, Test and Release as part of the development life cycle
- Engage with multiple teams (Dev/QA/IT) to manage overall build/automation requirements
