Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent is looking for a Senior Integration Engineer to facilitate the integration and testing of Engineering Development Models (EDM) of soon to be released products with select customers for product evaluation.   

The primary objective of this role is to provide customer success for the use, integration, and deployment of our next generation of products through a variety of means, including leading EDM test programs with key stakeholders.  Persistent Systems’ next generation products are being designed to bring distributed edge compute and AI capabilities into the MANET. This role will facilitate enabling users to successfully integrate their solutions to run on these products. 

 

The Senior Integration Engineer’s responsibilities will include requirements gathering, solution design, test/demonstration planning and execution, report generation and delivery.  You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department as you strive to solve customer problems.  

This role requires excellent communication skills and significant customer interface experience. The Senior Integration Engineer will be required to interface with a variety of internal and external stakeholders such as industry partners, end users, government program offices, Persistent Sales and Programs Management teams, and product developers.  

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Build customer relationships by leading EDM pilot programs with select customers and conveying their feedback to the Engineering and Management teams 
  • Developing Persistent Systems' solutions to technical and non-technical clients and end-users
  • Elicit, collect, and develop requirements for Persistent Systems' solutions based on client and end-user applications
  • Based on established requirements, develop system demonstrations and test plans, followed by final reports and summaries for internal and external customers    
  • Establish, coordinate, and/or participate in technical reviews 
  • Troubleshooting customers’ systems and collaborating with the Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations teams to resolve technical issues
  • Developing technical portions of responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customer requirements    
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems’ newest products and capabilities  

 

 

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering  
  • Experience developing and/or releasing new products 
  • Proficiency in utilizing Docker/Podman, or equivalent container  
  • Experience implementing Docker containers or equivalent in distributed IoT devices  
  • Proficiency in technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, and or RF propagation    
  • Proficiency in networking concepts such as IP routing, subnetting, and use of multicast vs unicast  
  • Understanding of product development and systems architecture design    
  • Experience working directly with customers and end users    
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal    
  • Must be available to travel up to 30% of the time    
  • Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance    

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree or PhD in computer science or computer engineering  
  • Experience developing AI/ML architectures in dispersed systems 
  • Experience as a Product Designer demonstrating powerful design thinking in both interaction and experience design  
  • Proven understanding of the end-to-end design process, including research, prototyping, usability testing  
  • Proficiency in Pytorch, Python, C, and/or C++   
  • 5+ years of experience implementing Docker containers or equivalent in distributed IoT devices within embedded Linux Systems 
  • Adept at creating and implementing AI/ML models to solve real world problems  
  • Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture-   
  • Experience using and integrating wireless datalink/radio hardware and/or software   
  • Possess an active Secret US Security Clearance    

The base pay for this role can vary from $161,000 to $201,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
