Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is looking for a Vice President of Business Development, Law Enforcement, Federal, Public Safety to join our team.  This person will be responsible for identifying and executing capture strategies to grow Persistent Systems’ market share in the law enforcement, federal, and public safety market segments. You will also be responsible for shaping requirements, managing, and building high revenue accounts, and assisting with programmatic measures to ensure that customers receive the best products and services available for their needs. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and implementing strategies that will expand the Persistent Systems’ customer base.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a Law Enforcement strategy to increase customer base and revenue in the Law Enforcement, Federal, and Public Safety market
  • Lead a cross-functional team of Account Managers, Sales Engineers, and Sales Operations towards the Law Enforcement Strategy annual goals and objectives
  • Identify, inform requirements, and capture government programs in the Law Enforcement, Federal, and Public Safety market
  • Identify new customers, programs, and potential partnership opportunities
  • Identify and manage existing key accounts and programs to maximize future business
  • Support bid/no bid and business case justification for company leadership, and collaborate with Bid and Proposal teams to pursue winning business capture strategies
  • Build partnerships with OEM, contractors and prime integrators related to the law enforcement market segment
  • Lead team resource allocation, prioritization, and participation in industry tradeshow, test and evaluation events, and conferences that provide opportunities to support  the LE strategy
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for large groups of internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage an annual budget for tradeshow and travel

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of sales/business development experience with commercial and/or government customers related to law enforcement programs and associated industry
  • Ability to network and build strong customer relationships across different aspects of the market segment including both government and contractors
  • Experience in a senior-level sales role working with customers in the defense industry with ability to support C-Suite level conversations and presentations
  • Demonstrated experience building winning bid and proposal strategies and teams
  • Ability to coordinate and utilize various support functions including Sales Engineers and Program Managers
  • Demonstrated knowledge of radio frequency (RF) and IP network theory
  • Knowledge of law enforcement communication devices with associated systems and sensors
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must have a United States Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business or a related field
  • 10+ years of prior federal law enforcement experience
  • Strong understanding of acquisition/procurement process within the law enforcement industry
  • 15+ years of experience in Sales/Business Development with a demonstrated track record of revenue growth

 

The base pay for this role can vary from $200,000 to $240,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligible for sales incentive compensation plan.
