Job Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for a dynamic marketing executive to pair with our CEO and founder to create and package the story of Persistent Systems and our products.  The Vice President of Marketing will lead the development of the Persistent Systems brand during this unprecedented market opportunity for commercial technology providers to bid on military contracts.  This individual will create the brand strategy, communications and promotional plans for leveraging digital media, trade shows and events, advertising and lead generation across the marketing and sales teams with a goal of establishing the PS brand and our unique distinctives among military decision-makers (officers and purchasing department) as well as end-users (warfighters, communications command).  

 

As the leader of the Marketing team, the VP of Marketing will manage the execution of marketing objectives and deliverables as well as direct and develop Marketing team members. The VP will also establish relationships with key leaders on the Executive Team, Sales, Operations and Engineering as well as outside agencies and vendors, and other stakeholders to deliver on organizational goals.

 

Experience building brands in competitive or emerging markets will be essential for leading our marketing efforts at Persistent Systems during this stage of the company’s growth.

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Develop annual Marketing Plans, goals, strategies and budgets
  • Drive brand positioning, differentiation and brand equity to enhance market share and brand awareness among both Decision Makers and Users (warfighters)
  • Launch Communications and channel strategies as well as the advertising and promotional plans to both Decision Makers and Users
    • Determine advertising investments among various channels including print, online and events
    • Build relationships with key social media influencers to develop brand awareness
  • Manage the development of compelling content including videos and photos, website design, sales collateral material, press releases, newsletters, articles and online postings to support marketing objectives
  • Drive Lead Generation strategies and execution as well as track and report performance vs. targets
  • Oversee all Trade Show and Events strategies and execution
  • Promote our EcoSystem partnerships and execution to meet expectations
  • Report on all key marketing performance metrics and make timely modifications if necessary
  • Monitor competitor products, sales and marketing activities
  • Manage the performance and development of Marketing team members to ensure execution of marketing deliverables as well as growth of everyone
  • Develop annual marketing budgets, allocating resources effectively and optimizing marketing investments to achieve maximum ROI
  • Foster relationships with key internal and external stakeholders

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or an equivalent field.
  • Demonstrated experience developing a brand through novel marketing techniques that has resulted in exponential growth in brand awareness
  • Proven track record of developing, managing and executing wide-ranging marketing campaigns in B2B verticals – work with military is preferrable
  • Proficiency in developing strategic marketing plans in Brand awareness, Communications, Channels and B2B Lead Generation and tracking
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams, senior executives and external stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire, mentor and develop marketing professionals
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to leverage data and insights for informed decision-making

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with marketing automation tools, customer relationship management (CRM) systems and analytics platforms.
  • Experience in scaling marketing operations, managing international marketing teams or expanding into new markets.
  • Working effectively across functional groups and with Executive teams

 

The base pay for this role can vary from $255,000 to $290,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
