Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its Integration Engineering team. As part of our Integration Engineering team, you will support and facilitate system integration of Persistent products, test planning and execution, network design, RF mapping, report generation and delivery, and responses to RFIs and RFPs.  You will play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges and new requirements to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. This role requires excellent communication skills as you will be required to work across the entire Persistent Systems team including Sales, Field Operations, Programs Management, Engineering, and Quality to provide customer solutions.     

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Build customer relationships with program-based clients through managing and interpreting their requirements and conveying progress to the Engineering and Management teams  
  • Contributing to program effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term issues; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; and recommending options and courses of action   
  • Developing test plans, methodologies followed by final reports and summaries for internal and external customers  
  • Troubleshooting customers’ communication systems and collaborating with the Sales, Engineering, and Field Operations teams to resolve technical issues.  
  • Developing technical portions of responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customer requirements  
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to evaluate and maintain program objectives  
  • Working closely with Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during program activities  
  • Communicating Persistent Systems' solutions to technical and non-technical clients and end-users for UAS and/or UGV applications  
  • Working directly with Persistent Systems’ delivered MANET equipment for use ranging from ground-based to airborne to subterranean, working with customers including Defense, Federal, other military, law enforcement, and commercial organizations  

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering 
  • Proficiency in technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, and or RF propagation  
  • Proficiency in networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architecture  
  • Understanding of product development and systems architecture design  
  • Proficiency in programming in Python, C, and/or C++ 
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis  
  • Experience working directly with customers and end users  
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal  
  • Must be available to travel up to 50% of the time  
  • Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering 
  • Experience with UAS and/or UGV platform design/integration 
  • Net+, Sec+, CCNA, or CWNA certifications  
  • Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture- 
  • Experience using and integrating wireless datalink/radio hardware and/or software 
  • DoD Information Operations and Cyber Security experience  
  • Proficiency in advanced technical software packages such as Wireshark and/or MATLAB  
  • Possess an active Secret US Security Clearance  

The base pay for this role can vary from $140,000 to $180,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
