Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a Director of Business Development, Indo-Pacific, who will be responsible for strategically growing, scaling, and managing international business in the Indo-Pacific region including a network of international resellers. Persistent primarily conducts our international business through a network of third-party resellers. This individual will be responsible for the management and oversight of these international companies on behalf of Persistent Systems, as well as expanding our presence in this market. The Director of Business Development, Indo-Pacific, will develop short- and long-term strategies to increase revenue and proliferate our Wave Relay MANET technology in commercial, industrial, unmanned systems, and government sectors around the world.

 

This role offers the opportunity to work remotely within the United States.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and potential customers in the Indo-Pacific region to drive new business opportunities and expand the company’s global footprint through Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Persistent Systems’ value add reseller network
  • Develop, manage, and optimize a network of value-added resellers and distributors, ensuring they are well-equipped and motivated to promote and sell Wave Relay® products in their respective regions
  • Understanding of market to include Foreign Military Sales (FMS), customer targets, Primes, purchasing mechanisms and requirements
  • Achieve and exceed international sales targets by developing and implementing effective sales plans and initiatives tailored to this specific market
  • Ensure agreements and programs with Persistent and resellers meet the overall mission, vision, requirements, and objectives of the company
  • Lead sales negotiations with international end users, resellers, and partners, securing terms and conditions that align with the company’s financial and strategic goals
  • Oversee and plan customer visits to Persistent Systems’ facilities
  • Provide strategies and projections to the Persistent Systems’ Business Development and Sales departments as well as working collaboratively within the organization on joint efforts
  • Travel to customer and business partner locations for programmatic meetings, demonstrations, and events
  • Work closely with Engineering to ensure product offerings meet the needs of international markets and adhere to regulatory requirements

 

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a technical field
  • 3 years’ progressive experience in international sales and sales management in the Indo-Pacific market
  • 2 years’ experience in technical sales
  • 2 years’ experience supporting Government projects
  • Experience with project planning (including creating and managing work breakdown schedules), project cost estimation, risk management, cost-benefits analyses, progress reporting, and identifying potential business partners
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must have a United States Security Clearance or be able to obtain a United States Security Clearance

  • Master of Business Administration

Total compensation for this role can vary from $140,000 to $150,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligible for sales incentive compensation plan.
