Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Architect to join our Fort Collins, CO team and help lead the design and development of virtual routing solutions on cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. You will serve as a technical lead and subject-matter expert in the development of cloud-Based solutions for Cloud Relay™ and provide critical support to cloud-based network design. You will be integral in supporting development as you will have insight into customer challenges and will work closely across the entire Persistent Systems team including Sales, Field Operations, Product Management, Engineering, and Quality. 

  

Position Responsibilities

 

  • Architect, design, and implement cloud-based virtual routing solutions for Cloud Relay™
  • Manage and maintain Cloud Relay™ virtual products
  • Interact and maintain technical relationships with cloud providers such as AWS and Microsoft Azure
  • Lead the migration and optimization of networking functions on AWS, Azure, and other cloud providers
  • Lead the development and design of scalable, resilient, and secure cloud architectures that support critical real-world missions
  • Developing test plans, methodologies followed by final reports and summaries for internal and external customers 
  • Integrate with multiple customers and internal departments to evaluate and execute cloud solutions

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent demonstrated experience in one or more of these disciplines 
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect and Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect or similar
  • Proficiency in popular cloud data serialization languages such as JSON and bash
  • Familiar with shell scripting
  • Proficiency in networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architecture 
  • Understanding of Linux operating systems and syntax
  • Understanding of product development and systems architecture design 
  • Experience working directly with customers and end users 
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal 
  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time 
  • Ability to obtain a Secret US Security Clearance 

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Master’s degree in electrical engineering, systems engineering, or computer science
  • Understanding programming languages such as Python and Java
  • Proficiency in data collection and analysis 
  • Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts 
  • Familiarity with Persistent Systems Cloud Relay™
  • DoD Information Operations and Cyber Security experience 
  • Must possess an active Secret US Security Clearance 

 

Total compensation for this role can vary from $160,000 to $200,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
