Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Program Manager, you will be a critical member of the Persistent Program Team based in Pinehurst, North Carolina. You will develop and execute a Technical Program Management Plan for US Government and non-Government programs and play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. You will be integral in supporting program development as you will have insight into customer challenges and program needs and will work closely across the entire Persistent Systems team including Field Operations, Product Management, Engineering, and Quality.

 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Providing program and technical leadership to achieve program goals and objectives
  • Collaborating with technical team to resolve technical issues escalated from customer locations
  • Contributing to program effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term issues; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; and recommending options and courses of actions
  • Developing long-term customer relationships with program clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Maintaining and developing relationships with partner companies to ensure a cohesive network architecture
  • Creating and maintaining program plans that include scope, scheduling, cost inclusion, and performance
  • Planning for opportunities and risks that include developing strategies and detailed approaches for addressing these occurrences
  • Leading and supporting responses to RFI / RFP and other similar customer requirements
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products to evaluate and maintain program objectives
  • Working closely with Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during program support activities
  • Communicating Persistent Systems' solutions to varying technical and non-technical clients, including executive ''C'' level management, VP, and Director levels, and end-users

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent demonstrated experience in one or more of these disciplines
  • Experience in technical program management, including oversight of program cost, schedule, and performance for efforts valued at least $1M
  • Understanding of technical concepts such as wireless, mobile IP, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architectures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills, written and verbal
  • Must be available to travel up to 25% of the time
  • Must have United States Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain United States Secret security clearance

 

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or Master’s degree in Business Administration
  • PMP certification or Level 3 DAU Program Management
  • 5 years of experience in technical program management, including oversight of program cost, schedule, and performance for efforts valued at least $1M
  • 3 years of experience with Intelligence Community or special operations communication systems
  • Experience working with technical program requirements for Government organizations across US DoD (US Army and SOCOM a plus)
  • Experience working with technical program requirements for other Federal Agencies and law enforcement organizations
  • Experience with wireless concepts such as MANET, Mesh, Ad-hoc, protocols and web architecture, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
  • Experience working directly with customers
  • Experience working with customer organizations such as large sized Government entities
  • Experience working with mid-size or larger Commercial organizations
  • Experience with managing programs operating across multiple locations, with increasing responsibility
  • Program transition and contract startup experience
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Information Operations and Cyber Security experience
  • Proficiency in technical software packages such as Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Solidworks, and MATLAB
  • Active Secret US Security Clearance

 

Total compensation for this role can vary from $140,000 to $160,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
