Job Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for a Senior Hardware Design Engineer who will be responsible for leading the research and development of new products, leading improvements to existing products and overall Systems solutions. This role will play a critical role in developing Wave Relay Product solutions with our DOD customers.  The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will identify customer needs through face-to-face interaction and play a critical role in developing the product solution.  The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions with both on-site and remote teams.   

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Managing, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams 
  • Supporting software and hardware testing 
  • Supporting and facilitating engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration 
  • Supporting the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintained 
  • Ensuring quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manuals 
  • Providing support and delivering solutions for rapid development projects 
  • Modifying and updating requirements documents 
  • Coordinating preparation of design drawings including updates 
  • Supporting and facilitating project scheduling 

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field 
  • At least 7 years working as a Hardware Design Engineer demonstrating powerful design thinking in both interaction and experience design 
  • At least 3 years of experience in RF engineering 
  • Defense Project Management Experience interfacing directly with customers for networking architecture solutions and product integration solutions 
  • Product Development experience  
  • Experience with complex systems development, evaluation and requirements capture 
  • Experience with electrical and mechanical interface requirements 
  • Experience in risk analysis and progress reporting 
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10% of the time 
  • Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • 10+ years of systems engineering and networking experience 
  • Experience with Embedded Linux 
  • Knowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfaces 
  • Experience in electromagnetic capability (EMC) testing and design 
  • Knowledge of military certification/qualification testing 

 

Total compensation for this role can vary from $160,000 to $200,000 a year based on individual qualifications. Eligibility for yearly discretionary bonus.
