Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is looking for a Vice President of Business Development, DOD who will be responsible for growing business by identifying and establishing new customer relationships, as well as maintaining our existing ones for our Department of Defense (DOD) vertical. You will also be responsible for capturing business, managing high revenue accounts, and assisting with programmatic measures to ensure that customers receive the best products and services available for their needs. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and implementing strategies that will expand Persistent System’s customer base on a global scale.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Develop capture strategy to increase customer relationships in the DOD space
  • Identifying potential new customers; managing and developing existing customer relationships
  • Collaborating with Capture Team to pursue a unified business development strategy
  • Developing and retaining existing customer relationships by presenting solutions to meet customer needs, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Managing key accounts and programs to maximize and grow future business
  • Creating business proposals, handling initial negotiations, and closing business deals as part of a team
  • Identifying industry and marketing events and trade that will provide opportunities and strengthen current customer relationships
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for large groups of internal and external stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively across the team/company to ensure efficient communications

Job Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field or equivalent experience
  • At least 10 years of Sales/Business Development experience with commercial and/or Government customers
  • Experience in a senior-level sales role working with customers in the Defense industry
  • Possess a solid understanding of relationships between DEVCOM/CCDCs, ASA(ALT)) and AFC's Cross Functional Teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Radio Frequency (RF) and network theory
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Must have a United States Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in business or a related field
  • DAWIA certifications from DAU
  • Prior experience interfacing with Army Contracting Command - APG (ACC-APG)
  • Strong understanding of acquisition/procurement process within the C5ISR community
  • 15+ years of experience in Sales/Business Development with a demonstrated track record of revenue growth
