  • Job Description & Responsibilities

    We’re looking for a Network Engineer who is a Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP). As a Network Engineer, you’ll be a critical member of the Air Force programs team, and will work closely with our engineering and technical team members to solve our contract sponsor’s most difficult mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) problems. You’ll serve as a subject-matter expert in Wave Relay® cloud solutions and will interact directly with our customers.

     

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES


    • Implement technical solutions using DoD Systems Engineering Processes
    • Knowledge of the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) and Cybersecurity Authority to Operate (ATO) accreditation processes
    • Support architecture design and development of highly resilient, dependable technology platforms including cloud, network, communications, and security
    • Administer Configuration Management process and coordinate Engineering Change Proposals (ECP) through the configuration control process
    • Interact with all stakeholders to establish business requirements, assess technical capabilities and analyze findings to translate into technology solutions
    • Provide architectural inputs on best practices regarding infrastructure
    • Recommend appropriate tools, technology and methodologies for solving complex problems
    • Understand and implement logical and physical designs for Cloud based solutions.
    • Provide system schematics, network diagrams, drawing tree and system drawings with computer-generated models
    • Implement System Testing for ECP modifications
    • Communicate technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems
    • Support and facilitate the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and monitoring of network and communications equipment including, but not limited to, the Wave Relay® suite of products and routers, switches, and mobile systems
    • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex networking systems
    • Maintain expert knowledge of Persistent Systems’ products

    Job Qualifications & Experience

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience
    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Certification, or similar certification or experience
    • 5 years’ experience as a Network Engineer
    • Full understanding of hardware and software concepts, and networking concepts such as IP routing and switching and VPN architectures, and OSI model layers 1-3
    • Strong understanding of technical concepts such as AWS, wireless, GPS, mobile, RF propagation
    • Experience with traffic shaping, priority queuing, Class of Service (CoS), and routing/switching
    • Must be available to travel at least 25% of the time
    • Must have a U.S. security clearance (Secret or higher), or the ability obtain one
    • 2 years' Department of Defense (DoD) network and systems contract experience


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


    • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
    • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Certification
    • Experience with Dynamic Multi-point Virtual Private Networks (DMVPN)
