Job Description & Responsibilities

As a Sales Engineer, you’ll be a critical member of the Persistent Systems Sales Team, working from our Fort Collins, Colorado office location. You’ll work closely with other Sales Engineers, Business Development, and teams across the company to solve our customer’s most difficult mobile ad hoc networking (MANET) problems. You’ll serve as a technical representative and subject-matter expert in the development of MANET architectures and solutions and will be responsible for all technical aspects of MANET solutions offered to our customers. You’ll have direct and recurring interaction with customers and play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to our engineering department as you strive to solve problems. You’ll be integral in shaping future product development with insight into customer challenges and market needs.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborating with Sales and Account Management to identify and create winning sales strategies and new product opportunities
  • Contributing to Sales Engineering effectiveness by identifying short- and- long-term issues, providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations, recommending options and courses of actions, and implementing directives
  • Developing long-term customer relationships with clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
  • Designing technical solutions to meet prospect's business, technical, and financial goals
  • Supporting and responding to RFIs and RFPs
  • Supporting technical demonstrations, including customer events and tradeshows
  • Collaborating with the Sales team to develop requirements documents, presentations, proposals, and ROI models, and coordinating with support specialists, consultants, or project managers to execute sales objectives and ensure all pre-sales customer requirements are documented and transitioned
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems’ products to develop and present unique solutions, as well as emerging trends in technology and online advertising
  • Working closely with Product Managers and Engineering by providing feedback from information gathered during pre-sales projects
  • Serving as an internal advocate and technical lead for further development and refinement of the Cloud Relay® system
  • Providing guidance and requirements for customers including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces and custom installation that meet customer requirements
  • Developing customer and internal staff by providing technical information and training
  • Providing post-sales support service and technical backup as required

Job Qualifications & Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 5 years of experience in technical and/or field sales
  • 3 years in the Intelligence Community (IC) or Cybersecurity field
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts such as wireless, IP routing and switching, VPN architectures, Signals Intelligence (SI), and Cybersecurity, with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
  • Strong understanding of the OSI model Layer 1-3
  • Ability to speak directly to technical teams and provide in-depth understanding of products and platforms
  • Experience presenting to large groups including customers and a proven ability to adapt presentations to the technical level of the audience
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio and Salesforce
  • Must be available to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Must have a Top Secret (TS) United States security clearance

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Sales Engineering or consulting
