Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is looking for a Mechanical Assembly Engineer Intern to support our Operations team in the final assembly of our industry-leading Wave Relay® products. You will gain exposure to all areas of the production process and work alongside our quality team to support the safety, quality, and production standards of Persistent Systems’ products.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performing various mechanical assembly tasks, according to established processes and procedures, to support final assembly of products
  • Providing technical production assistance
  • Assisting with product testing and evaluation
  • Performing quality checks to ensure products meet established quality standards
  • Exploring opportunities for process improvements and providing recommendations

Job Qualifications & Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working toward an Associate’s degree or higher in a technical field
  • Working knowledge of computer software, including word processing, Internet, and e-mail
  • Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working toward an Associate’s degree or higher in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in a manufacturing/assembly environment
  • Experience with assembly tools and materials
  • Experience with electronics assembly, soldering, and torque-controlled devices
