Job Description & Responsibilities

Persistent Systems is seeking a Financial Controller to direct the company’s Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain functions. Due to our extensive relationship with United States Government customers and, specifically, with the United States Department of Defense (DoD), the Controller will also be responsible for compliance with all government contracts and Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) requirements.



  • Managing the company’s accounting procedures and activities, including the monthly accounting close, preparation of reports to management, and supervision of all accounting and finance department personnel
  • Assisting with key relationships between the Company and its suppliers.
  • Preparing budgets, forecasts, and cash flows
  • Maintaining financial ledgers and driving accounting processes
  • Preparing Weekly Financial Reports and Monthly Income Statements and Balance Sheets
  • Managing the overall treasury function including collection of Accounts Receivable (AR) invoices and payment of Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Reviewing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial data as compared to the annual budget and prior year results
  • Ensuring that appropriate systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained
  • Overseeing all tax and regulatory compliance issues (GAAP, IRS and DCAA)
  • Managing annual audits and income tax processes
  • Managing accuracy of inventory and cost of goods sold
  • Overseeing the company’s payroll process
  • Managing project costing functions, including billable time
  • Supervising Accounting Manager(s) and Accountants
  • Manage the Supply Chain and Logistics functions

Job Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related
  • 7+ years of senior financial management experience
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and generally acceptable accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Experience as a senior financial manager in an organizaton that manufactures technical products
  • Experiencing leading the implementation of an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
  • Must have a United States Security Clearance or the ability to obtain a United States Security Clearance



  • Experience managing the financial and operational requirements of United States government contracts and DCAA audits
  • Proven success managing corporate financial operations, including reporting, forecasting, cash management, accounts payable/receivable, and payroll
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and experience with higher-tiered accounting systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Superior leadership and supervisory skills
  • Capable of rapidly building credibility both within and outside the company
