Job Description & Responsibilities

We are looking for an on-site Field Application Engineer who will be a critical member of our Intelligence Operations Team at our Fort Collins, Colorado office. You will provide forward, hands-on support to solve our customer’s most difficult MANET problems in Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) operations. This role is rooted within customer operations and is critical to developing long-term customer relationships. You will serve as a technical lead and subject-matter expert in the support of Wave Relay® communications solutions and be responsible for technical aspects of MANET solutions offered to our customers. You will have direct and recurring interaction with customers and play a pivotal role in communicating technical challenges to Program Engineers and Program Managers.

 

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Developing long-term customer relationships with project clients through managing and interpreting their requirements
  • Contributing to project effectiveness by identifying short- and- long-term network issues, providing information and commentary pertinent to technical deliberations, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives
  • Assisting personnel with procedures and optimization of the MANET system
  • Providing project technical assistance, product education, and training to customer
  • Leading the on-site technical team in meeting customer requirements
  • Assisting in the design of solutions to meet customer requirements, including RF antenna solutions, physical interfaces and custom installations that meet customer requirements
  • Supporting technical solutions to meet prospect's business, technical, and/or financial goals
  • Maintaining expert knowledge of Persistent Systems products and solutions
  • Leading troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex networking systems

Job Qualifications & Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3 years as a Field Application Engineer, Field Service Representative, or similar
  • 3 years of Department of Defense (DoD) manned and unmanned systems experience
  • 3 years of experience with tactical and/or strategic radio communications systems
  • 3 years of Signals Intelligence (SIGINT) experience
  • Strong understanding of technical concepts such as wireless, GPS, mobile, RF propagation with an understanding of hardware and software concepts
  • Proven experience troubleshooting communications systems and architectures, conducting group training, and managing equipment inventory and readiness
  • Must be willing and able to travel at least 50% of the time
  • Must have an Active Secret United States security clearance or higher

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
  • Active Top Secret (TS) security clearance
  • Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician (CCENT) certificate or similar certification
  • Experience with the following: MANET or Wave Relay®, DoD Information Assurance, supporting Line of Site and Beyond Line of Site communications networks, testing and evaluation, smart phone and tablet computer configuration, video encoders, Land Mobile Radio (LMR), and configuration management
  • Strong tactical mindset and incorporating technology into operations.
  • Understanding of ADB and rooting Android Devices
